These are the collected pieces of a life lived without any equipment but for a few short months over decades. They miraculously have resulted in some great song ideas, but as of yet this is all I have.

With some luck in due time I will find the means to polish, create and record the great American album I have always dreamed of.

The songwriting here took weeks, but the skill set took years, and these sessions were taken while still very rusty. The artwork, photography, video and animation here is all my own, as with all of this site 99.9% original except where credited in text.

 Enjoy!

The Making of OZENOZ:ONE

An Album Decades in the Making

ONE: “Solo” Album in The Beginning

Introduction

Y’all make like ya think you know me, but let me tell you something, much like my asshole half brother who writes lies in his lyrics all about my “wasted life”, y’all don’t. Some of you it really appears are getting to know me, and that is following my  work on Ozenoz Media, but let me tell you something I hope really proves valuable; I still haven’t come an eighth of the way to capturing how talented I am.

You see, Asshole Brooks and the Family Clan would like to have it that I am a waste for good, and frankly, if it is not obvious, I am not.

This coming album was written over years of agony, life work, furious months long sessions when I had the time, space, and equipment, and the key to it all: I re-defined myself as a performer.

I can and do freestyle rap, I am a great stand up comedian and the voices from that are all in there. I play piano, trumpet, guitar, I do excellent rhythm work, and have a voice that started an entire jailhouse (5 floors) in Tennessee to riot from a whole other fucking floor...jailhouse fucking rock!

The Album

This album is a concept album. It is about the predicament of the artist in love with his art, his life, his lover, his talent gone wasted on fools who would hold him down by the root of the weed; poverty.

I am not going to have anything to prove what I can do until it happens, so I am enthused to make it happen as soon as possible.

There Is A Lot to Be Said About Drugs

One is that I have a repressive hypocrite family of fools who will never get to know me as I will never know what I would have come to be had they not lied through their teeth.

The other is that people need to get over it, and themselves, and recover from these types of bumps in the road without throwing away lives.

To all those opposed

"Trip" [09/11/2015 4:20 am]

Due to the sensitive nature of this video, Google is blocking the visuals here unless you go fullscreen or to their site.

First off, let me say that though psychedelics such as LSD can be a rite of passage, an awakening and I support the decriminalization of these and other drugs, they are dangerous.

I obviously have been down this path, and one such "vision quest" stunted my growth as an artist decades back and I do not endorse them as a means to spiritual growth, and factually, it would be faulty to claim lasting life growth produced by the use of them solely.

"There are three side effects of acid: enhanced long-term memory, decreased short-term memory, and I forget the third."

 -Timothy Leary

This "Trip" indeed has psychedelic properties, that being the kaleidoscopic effects I found on an app on one of the dozens of phones I have used on the OZฮžะ˜OZ sites.

It is, in fact, the trolley ride I took every day for half an hour through the San Diego area to spend family time with my wife and daughter for years while we lived separately due to monetary difficulties.

These were times of hardship, led not by drugs and recklessness as you would have by the side of my dearest loves. Through art and inner reflection, meditation and prayer, and much life work it has been well worth the "Trip".

Don't bug out. Lol.

Well, maybe at 09:17

The music was done at 4:20am on 09/11/2015 in one track on a 1970's organ I somehow crammed into my studio apartment in downtown San Diego for a few months.

It captures the magnitude of my distaste for the state of things around me, and I sure was "tripping" with the window open, and the levels set to "10".

Peace by Peace.

Done in ONE day using:
Kyocera Hydro Wave
Epiphone Acoustic/Electric
Epiphone Amplifier
Lenovo ThinkPad

This video was shot in downtown San Diego, and in East Village SD which was my home for near a decade. There is a lot of art shown, sadly most of which  no longer exists, though new work and the incredibly progressive and ever changing skyline and common areas of "America's Finest City" are flowering more brilliant and beautiful murals, parks, and wonderful developments to house and raise our families in and around.

The video also shows some downtown landmarks common to both tourists and locals, and most of those are doing fine. The Gaslamp Cinema in downtown is shown having closed, much prior to covid after being a San Diego spot for a very long time.

The music is a standard open tuning jam, done in one quick take after 3 hours of filming, then immediately synced and produced on GoPro's "Quik" app. I highly recommend it.

Enjoy!
